Travel L&D RN opportunity in Albany, GA 31701 — 17-week night shift assignment for experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses. Join a high-volume, baby-friendly hospital and care for mothers and newborns in a supportive travel nursing role.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 – $2,080 (competitive travel nursing pay)
- Location: Albany, GA (Zip: 31701) — South Georgia travel nursing job
- Assignment Length: 17 weeks (May 11, 2026 – September 7, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 6:45 AM) — Night shift L&D RN
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Setting: Acute Care – Labor & Delivery Unit
- Number of Positions: 3 travel nurse openings
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Scrub Color: Provided by hospital
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
- Valid RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Intermediate or above Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) competency
- Ability to float to postpartum as needed
- Familiarity with Meditech charting system preferred
- Not accepting first-time travelers
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to high-risk and routine obstetric patients as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
- Monitor and assess mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum
- Use OB Trace and Meditech EMR for accurate documentation and handoffs
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists, OB hospitalists, anesthesiology, and lactation consultants
- Assist with c-sections, cerclages, tubal procedures, and vaginal deliveries
- Maintain unit protocols and AWHONN staffing ratios to ensure high-quality maternal and newborn care
- Participate in rotating holiday coverage and every other weekend shifts
- Complete floor-specific orientation (2 shifts) to onboard as a travel nurse
