This travel histotechnician (histology technician) assignment places you in a busy hospital laboratory supporting surgical pathology and diagnostic services in a vibrant metro area near top medical facilities.

- Position: Travel Histotechnician / Histology Technician (Hospital Lab Tech)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1200 - $1280
- Location: Hospital Laboratory (Atlanta, GA 30342)
- Setting: Hospital laboratory / surgical pathology support
- Contract Duration: 11 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 8-hour days, 6:00am – 2:30pm (days vary)
- Employment Type: Travel assignment (onsite)

- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- End Date: August 1, 2026
- Onsite Requirement: Must be able to work onsite; no local candidates within 50 miles
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of histotechnology experience in a hospital laboratory or surgical pathology setting
- ASCP certification required (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
- Proficiency with routine and specialized histology techniques such as tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and H&E staining
- Experience with special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and commitment to quality laboratory practices
- Ability to collaborate with pathology, lab staff, and clinical teams to ensure timely, accurate results
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination, supporting surgical pathology and urology cases
- Perform routine histology procedures including fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and H&E staining
- Complete specialized histology tasks and assist with special stains and IHC as required by lab protocols
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of specimen processing, testing, and quality control
- Follow safety, infection control, and quality assurance procedures in all laboratory operations
- Collaborate with laboratory staff, pathologists, and clinical teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely reporting
