Join a dynamic Neuro Med-Surg Acute team in Peoria, Illinois! We are seeking an experienced Neuro RN / Travel Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on a high-acuity, 54-bed unit. This role is ideal for skilled acute care nurses with neuro and Level 1 trauma experience caring for stroke, spine surgery, seizures, brain tumors, and head injuries. Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 05/11/2026 – End: 08/10/2026)
• Position: Neuro Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse / Travel Registered Nurse
• Shift: 12-hour nights (night shift nursing jobs)
• Hours: 36 hours per week, guaranteed
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
• Setting: Acute Neuro Med-Surg (54 beds) – Level 1 trauma center
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Peoria, Illinois travel nursing jobs)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Charting System: EPIC (electronic health record experience preferred)

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Illinois (or proof of application in process)
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• At least 1 year of recent experience on a dedicated neuro unit
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Experience with heparin titration based on PTT
• Negative drug screen required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to neuro med-surg patients, including stroke patients, post-op spine and neurosurgery patients, seizure management, brain tumor care, and head injury patients
• Titrate heparin drips and manage other titratable medications as indicated
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including charge nurses, physicians, therapists, and house supervisors available 24/7—to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Float in rotation with staff as needed, providing competent care within scope of practice
• Participate in a supportive orientation program and ongoing continuing education for travel nurses
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including dress code and documentation standards in EPIC
