Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,340 – $2,510
- Location: Richmond, VA (23226) — Richmond, Virginia healthcare job
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 18, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days, Monday–Friday with alternating day off
- Call: Weekday call required + rotating weekend call (Fri–Sun) with 30-minute response time
- Hours per Week: 40
- Employment Type: Travel, On-Site — travel technologist opportunity
Required Qualifications (Radiology / IR Tech)
- Minimum 1 year experience in Interventional Radiology/Angiography, including neuro angiography and advanced interventional procedures
- ARRT certification and registration (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association (required)
- Experience working with both pediatric and adult patient populations
- Proficiency with PACS and imaging systems; EPIC EHR experience (preferred)
- Ability to assist with CT, Ultrasound, and Diagnostic procedures as needed
- Strong adherence to sterile technique, radiation safety, and hospital protocols
- Flexibility, critical thinking, and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-volume interventional radiology environment
Key Responsibilities (Interventional / Angio Tech)
- Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic, specialized interventional, and neuro-interventional procedures using sterile technique
- Prepare, administer, and document medications, contrast media, and radiation exposure according to facility policy
- Obtain and verify patient clinical history, laboratory results, and informed consent prior to procedures
- Administer contrast with a power injector as prescribed and assess patient risk for allergic reaction to contrast media; initiate first-line treatment for adverse effects when needed
- Operate and select appropriate imaging equipment and settings to achieve high-quality diagnostic and interventional images
- Maintain radiation safety standards to minimize exposure for patients and staff
- Document pre-, intra-, and post-procedure notes accurately in PACS/EHR systems
- Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and family/care team members to ensure safe care transitions
- Support training and supervision of students and other healthcare providers in the IR suite
- Maintain inventory, order supplies as needed, and communicate supply needs to appropriate personnel
