Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,100 - $2,210 (competitive weekly pay for travel nurse jobs in New York)
- Location: Utica, NY 13502 — travel nursing assignment in Upstate NY
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 25, 2026 – August 22, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (10:30 AM – 11:00 PM), 36 hours per week
- Employment Type: Travel (ER Travel Nurse / Emergency Department RN)
- Unit: Emergency Department — 64 beds including acute, trauma, psych, and pediatric care
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience, including pediatric care (ER RN / Emergency Department Nurse)
- Previous travel nursing experience in the ED required
- Active New York RN license (verified via NURSYS) — New York nursing license required
- Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
- TNCC certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required (EPIC documentation experience preferred)
- Skills checklist matching specialty (critical care, trauma, stroke protocols)
- Charge nurse capability highly preferred
- Ability to float to other units as needed
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
Responsibilities / Emergency Department Duties
- Provide high-quality emergency care to patients presenting with stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and other critical conditions
- Administer and monitor specialty drips and critical care medications (pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, sedation, TNK, heparin, insulin)
- Utilize specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun; perform critical care interventions as indicated
- Care for patients across the lifespan: newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, lab, radiology) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR (electronic medical record)
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including unit dress code (navy blue scrubs)
- Participate in floating assignments and support other units as required
