Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 - $2,310 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Santa Fe, NM 87505 — Santa Fe healthcare job in the heart of New Mexico
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40
• No weekend or on-call requirement
• Start Date: ASAP
• Primary Assignment: Physician Medical Center; must be willing to float to Main campus OR as staffing needs require
• Role Type: Travel Registered Nurse, Perioperative Nurse, Surgical RN

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current New Mexico RN license or Compact state RN license
• BLS Certification via AHA
• ACLS Certification via AHA
• At least 1 year of recent Operating Room RN or perioperative nursing experience
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff
• Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations and perform heavy physical effort

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement perioperative patient care in the Operating Room, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes
• Demonstrate clinical proficiency in surgical procedures, sterile technique, and patient monitoring
• Assist with positioning, transferring, and preparing patients for surgery, including surgical instrumentation support
• Float to Main campus OR as needed to support staffing requirements for surgical services
• Maintain compliance with unit standards, policies, and perioperative best practices
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team, physicians, and patient families to support coordinated care
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while respecting patient rights and dignity
• Respond to emergencies and unexpected changes in schedule with flexibility and clinical judgement
