Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 - $2,310 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Santa Fe, NM 87505 — Santa Fe healthcare job in the heart of New Mexico
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- No weekend or on-call requirement
- Start Date: ASAP
- Primary Assignment: Physician Medical Center; must be willing to float to Main campus OR as staffing needs require
- Role Type: Travel Registered Nurse, Perioperative Nurse, Surgical RN
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Current New Mexico RN license or Compact state RN license
- BLS Certification via AHA
- ACLS Certification via AHA
- At least 1 year of recent Operating Room RN or perioperative nursing experience
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff
- Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations and perform heavy physical effort
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement perioperative patient care in the Operating Room, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes
- Demonstrate clinical proficiency in surgical procedures, sterile technique, and patient monitoring
- Assist with positioning, transferring, and preparing patients for surgery, including surgical instrumentation support
- Float to Main campus OR as needed to support staffing requirements for surgical services
- Maintain compliance with unit standards, policies, and perioperative best practices
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team, physicians, and patient families to support coordinated care
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while respecting patient rights and dignity
- Respond to emergencies and unexpected changes in schedule with flexibility and clinical judgement
