Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,500 – $1,620
- Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Travel RRT job, Night Shift
- Location: Odessa, TX 79761 (West Texas)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 5, 2026 – August 4, 2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (18:45 – 07:15), 3–4 shifts per week
- Unit / Setting: Respiratory Care – Adult med/surg, adult critical care, general pediatric (acute care hospital)
- Weekend Coverage: Required (9 weekend shifts per contract)
- Orientation: 24 hours provided
- Note: Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel assignment
Job Requirements (Respiratory Therapist Qualifications)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in acute care or critical care settings
- Must hold RRT credential (CRT not accepted)
- Active certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
- Experience in adult critical care, trauma Level II, and pediatric respiratory preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system preferred
- Prior travel RRT experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
Primary Responsibilities (Respiratory Care / Critical Care)
- Provide respiratory care across the lifespan: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Perform advanced respiratory procedures including intubation, airway management, and mechanical ventilation management (including jet and oscillatory ventilation)
- Manage ventilators (PB 980, other ICU ventilators), V-60 NIV, Nitric delivery systems, and point-of-care testing (Istat)
- Perform blood gas analysis, pulmonary hygiene, ventilator weaning, and respiratory distress interventions
- Assist in high-risk deliveries, trauma cases, and Rapid Response Team interventions
- Accurate documentation of patient care using Cerner electronic charting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize pulmonary care and patient outcomes
