Required Qualifications – Registered Nurse (RN)
- Active RN license in Maryland or compact state (pending MD license may be accepted) — Maryland nursing jobs eligible
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (Med/Surg RN / Telemetry Nurse)
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required (travel nurse experience preferred)
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (?80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
- Comfortable caring for patients undergoing gender affirmation surgery (experience preferred, not required)
- Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as scheduled; holiday coverage: 2 of 3 winter holidays required
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities (Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse / Night Shift RN)
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a post-op focus
- Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, initiating appropriate interventions and escalation
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform phlebotomy as needed
- Provide comprehensive care for a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses
- Utilize clinical skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, central line and PICC care, wound care, and more
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV team, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, case management
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation (Cerner preferred)
- Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
- Float to other units of similar or lower acuity when required and uphold infection control and isolation precautions
