• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown — cardiac, surgical, respiratory focus

Required Qualifications (PCU RN)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state (travel nurse friendly)
• BLS and ACLS required; NIH Stroke Certification required
• Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; acute care hospital, stepdown, or telemetry experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop evidence-based care plans for PCU/stepdown patients
• Manage cardiac, surgical, and respiratory patients, including care of post-op drains, wound vacs, and cardiac drips
• Administer medications safely (IV push, cardiac drips) and monitor response
• Provide continuous cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and rapid response for changing patient conditions
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, RRT, LPNs, PCAs) and serve as a patient safety advocate
• Maintain professional nursing standards and documented, patient-centered care in an acute care setting
