• Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit (critical care respiratory)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (1830–0700)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours (guaranteed)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Orientation: 12 hours department-specific orientation (EPIC charting, ventilator review)
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs (not provided)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a large (300+ bed) critical care facility; ICU/critical care respiratory experience preferred
• Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license OR confirmation of application in progress (Illinois respiratory therapy jobs)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC accepted
• BLS certification from AHA
• Experience caring for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in critical care settings
• Must not have worked at any OSF facility in the past year
• Ability to produce a negative drug screen for all panels (Drug-Free Campus)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and assessment to medical, intermediate, and ICU patients (respiratory care, ventilator management)
• Deliver treatments following AARC point system (26–28 points per day)
• Operate and manage ventilators and respiratory equipment including Servo U, Servo i, LTV ventilators, Trilogy BiPAP, ResMed S9 CPAP, and Fisher & Paykel heated high flow
• Perform ventilator reviews, high-flow oxygen therapy, airway management, and bedside respiratory procedures as indicated
• Document care accurately using EPIC and collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7
• Participate in department-specific orientation and specialty item training; work under the guidance of a team lead therapist with resource support each shift
• Adhere to hospital policies including call-off and cancellation procedures
