Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,960 – $2,070 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Penn Yan, NY 14527 — Finger Lakes region; ideal for nurses seeking New York nursing jobs with outdoor recreation, wineries, and a welcoming small-town atmosphere.
• Assignment Duration: 14 weeks (April 27, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
• Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night); scheduled as needed, including every other weekend, holidays, and 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks
• Employment Type: Travel (travel nurse / travel RN position)

Job Requirements

• Active New York State RN licensure (Registered Nurse)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
• Prior telemetry or cardiac care experience preferred (telemetry RN, cardiac telemetry)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate Med/Surg patient care using nursing theory, technical skills, and strong communication
• Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support clinical outcomes
• Provide direct patient care, monitor progress, and coordinate care across the patient’s episode
• Develop and apply specialized skills in cardiac care and telemetry monitoring (telemetry nurse responsibilities)
• Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge instructions to promote recovery and reduce readmissions
• Promote comfort, provide emotional support, and advocate for patient safety, rights, and dignity
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection prevention strategies, and maintain competencies for the assigned population
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and effective communication with colleagues, physicians, and patients
• Engage in self-evaluation and ongoing professional development to enhance clinical practice
