Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Current Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital or acute care setting (acute care SLP experience preferred)
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Experience with neurogenic conditions, neurodevelopmental treatment, developmental disabilities, or rehab management is a plus
  • Maryland licensure or eligibility preferred for faster start (ability to obtain state licensure encouraged)

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders in hospital patients
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and evidence-based speech therapy interventions
  • Provide bedside evaluations, therapeutic interventions, and recommendations for diet modifications and safe swallowing
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and other allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes
  • Document patient progress, maintain accurate medical records, and complete timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and patient care coordination
