Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,760 – $2,900 (travel nurse pay)
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 — Columbus, Ohio travel nursing job
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
• Shift: Schedule consists of 2x8-hour shifts and 2x12-hour shifts per week; shifts range from 6:30am to 11:00pm, with flexible scheduling and call required
• Expected Hours Per Week: 40
• Unit: CVOR / Operating Room RN / Cardiovascular Operating Room
• Employment Type: Travel, On-Site (Travel RN opportunity)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of overall OR experience (operating room nurse experience)
• At least 2 years of cardiac, vascular, and transplant experience (cardiac nurse, vascular nurse, transplant nurse)
• 1 year of dedicated CVOR experience
• 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility
• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record (EPIC charting system)
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing complex cardiac, vascular, and transplant surgeries
• Assist with procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, AAA repairs, thoracic and vascular surgeries, and transplant operations
• Utilize advanced surgical equipment including Da Vinci Surgical Systems, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and hybrid OR technology
• Participate in call rotation, including weekday evenings and weekend 12-hour blocks
• Maintain strict infection control and safety protocols in the cardiovascular operating room
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (cardiothoracic surgeons, perfusionists, anesthesia) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document care accurately using EPIC and follow hospital policies for surgical documentation
• Support the hospital’s mission of excellence in heart and vascular care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
