- Shift: 5x8-hour day shifts (Mon–Fri, 8:00am–4:30pm; occasional 7:00am starts)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,780 – $2,990
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekend & Holiday: Clinic usually closed; minimal rotation may be required
Required Qualifications – Oncology Pharmacist
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (required)
- B.S. Pharm. or Pharm.D. degree
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience; infusion center, outpatient oncology, or inpatient oncology experience strongly preferred
- Chemotherapy (Chemo) certification and RPh immunization/credentialing as required
- Demonstrated experience with sterile compounding and intravenous preparation, including chemotherapy, IV piggyback, and IV push medications
- Experience packaging antineoplastic agents and applying USP sterile technique and hazardous drug handling best practices
- Pharmacotherapy management experience across oncology and related conditions (hematologic, GI, immunologic, neurologic, rheumatologic)
- Outpatient care experience required; home health infusion or inpatient oncology considered
- Proficiency with Epic and Pyxis medication management systems preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary care teams
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced infusion clinic
- Seasonal flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities – Outpatient Infusion & Oncology Pharmacy
- Prepare and dispense hazardous and non-hazardous medications, including cytotoxic chemotherapy and other antineoplastic agents, using sterile compounding techniques
- Provide pharmacotherapy management, medication counseling, and clinical support for oncology and infusion patients
- Collaborate closely with oncologists, infusion nurses, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary clinical teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Use Epic and Pyxis for medication orders, documentation, inventory control, and medication safety checks
- Educate patients and staff on chemotherapy regimens, expected side effects, safe handling, and disposal of hazardous medications
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, USP standards, and institutional policies
- Participate in quality improvement, medication safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development in oncology pharmacy
