Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or RQI only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Med/Surg (medical-surgical) environment as an RN
• Experience with hospital nursing, EHR documentation, and interdisciplinary care coordination preferred

Key Responsibilities (Medical-Surgical Nursing)

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate med-surg patient care to adults, adolescents, and geriatric patients as a Travel RN
• Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide direct clinical care, monitor and evaluate patient progress, and coordinate transitions of care during the episode
• Educate patients and families on self-care, discharge planning, and lifestyle changes to support recovery
• Promote comfort, safety, and emotional support in a healing environment while advocating for patient rights
• Delegate tasks appropriately, maintain infection prevention strategies, and ensure compliance with hospital policies
• Document nursing care, patient education, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development to enhance med-surg nursing practice
