Required Qualifications

Key Responsibilities (Psychiatric RN / Behavioral Health Nurse)

• Deliver safe, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to adolescent and adult behavioral health patients
• Manage patient assignments (approx. 1:12 on adolescent/adult units; 1:10 on dual diagnosis/SUD unit)
• Apply de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention, and therapeutic communication
• Administer psychotropic and medication therapies; monitor and document side effects and responses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document thoroughly in the HCS EHR system and maintain accurate clinical records
• Float between units to support safe staffing and continuity of care

Skills & Certifications

• BLS certification (preferred or required per facility policy)
• Experience with behavioral health documentation and EHR systems (HCS experience a plus)
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and medication administration skills
• Ability to work independently on night shift and respond to psychiatric emergencies
