Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Travel RRT opportunity in Bridgeport, CT. 13-week night shift assignment; NICU & critical care required.
Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at a leading short-term acute care hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut (06610). This 13-week travel respiratory therapist contract offers the chance to work at a large, multidisciplinary hospital (426 staffed beds, Level II Trauma Center). Job Details – Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) | Bridgeport, CT
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930 – $2,080
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Night shifts – 4x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM); every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Hours per Week: 36
- Required Orientation Hours: 36 (to be completed at the start of the assignment)
- Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit (Level 3 NICU, Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric)
- Charting / EMR: EPIC

Qualifications – Respiratory Care Practitioner / RRT
- Minimum 2 years recent critical care respiratory therapy experience (Level I Trauma required)
- Travel respiratory therapist experience required (previous travel RRT assignments preferred)
- Level 3 NICU experience required; neonatal respiratory experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with neonatal oscillating vents, Draeger vents, and high frequency jet ventilators
- Current Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license (CRT or RRT)
- BLS required; ACLS, NRP, PALS and other advanced certifications preferred
- Willingness to float between campuses in Bridgeport and Milford
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- 1 professional reference required
Responsibilities – Hospital Respiratory Therapist / Travel RRT
- Provide respiratory care across the lifespan: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in a Level 3 NICU and throughout the hospital
- Operate and manage neonatal oscillating vents, Draeger ventilators, and high frequency jet ventilators
- Perform advanced respiratory procedures including arterial blood gas sampling and intubation; assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
- Float to various units as needed based on census and staffing requirements
- Document all patient care accurately in EPIC electronic medical record
- Orient, precept, and mentor students or new hires as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based respiratory care
