Job Details – Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) | Bridgeport, CT

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930 – $2,080
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
• Shift: Night shifts – 4x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM); every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Hours per Week: 36
• Required Orientation Hours: 36 (to be completed at the start of the assignment)
• Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit (Level 3 NICU, Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric)
• Charting / EMR: EPIC

Qualifications – Respiratory Care Practitioner / RRT

• Minimum 2 years recent critical care respiratory therapy experience (Level I Trauma required)
• Travel respiratory therapist experience required (previous travel RRT assignments preferred)
• Level 3 NICU experience required; neonatal respiratory experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with neonatal oscillating vents, Draeger vents, and high frequency jet ventilators
• Current Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license (CRT or RRT)
• BLS required; ACLS, NRP, PALS and other advanced certifications preferred
• Willingness to float between campuses in Bridgeport and Milford
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• 1 professional reference required

Responsibilities – Hospital Respiratory Therapist / Travel RRT

• Provide respiratory care across the lifespan: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in a Level 3 NICU and throughout the hospital
• Operate and manage neonatal oscillating vents, Draeger ventilators, and high frequency jet ventilators
• Perform advanced respiratory procedures including arterial blood gas sampling and intubation; assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
• Float to various units as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Document all patient care accurately in EPIC electronic medical record
• Orient, precept, and mentor students or new hires as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based respiratory care
