- Location: Hood River, OR (97031) — Hood River, Oregon travel nursing opportunity
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: June 8, 2026
- End Date: September 7, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 – $2,270
- Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:00), every other weekend required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) Unit — labor & delivery, maternity, perinatal care
- Position Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon (or compact RN license, or pending OR license)
- Minimum 1 year of recent LDRP / labor & delivery experience (2 years preferred) — experience as an obstetrics nurse or perinatal RN preferred
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification preferred
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) required
- Reliable vehicle for assignment and willingness to float to nearby sister facilities as needed
- Ability to work every other weekend and 3 of 5 major holidays during contract
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients according to AWHONN standards (1:1 labor, 1:6 postpartum)
- Perform and document maternal and newborn assessments, administer medications (including Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate), and monitor fetal heart rates using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Conduct sterile vaginal exams, triage obstetrical patients, and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services to ensure safe deliveries and quality maternity care
- Float to other units or nearby affiliate hospitals as needed based on skill set and patient census
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic, participate in ongoing training modules, and support quality improvement initiatives
