Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Setting: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) – perioperative nursing, cardiac surgery
- Shift: 10-hour days, Monday through Friday (06:30 - 17:00)
- Call: 10 days/month, including one weekend/month
- Orientation: 36 hours (scrubs provided)
- Start Date: May 18, 2026 or sooner

Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN experience (perioperative and cardiac surgery experience required)
- Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or Compact RN license (required at time of start)
- BCLS certification required
- Experience both circulating and scrubbing in CVOR required
- Epic charting experience preferred (Epic experience valued for CVOR documentation)
- CNOR certification preferred
- Ability to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric populations in a high-acuity cardiac surgery setting
Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a busy CVOR with 3 operating rooms; support cardiovascular and thoracic surgical teams
- Circulate and scrub for a variety of cardiac and thoracic procedures including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, TAVR, aortic aneurysm repairs, and robotic thoracic surgery
- Participate in the call rotation (10 days/month, including one weekend/month) and respond to emergent cardiac cases as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and transport to ensure coordinated patient care
- Utilize PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR for safe medication management, charting, and handoff communication
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and fatigue management guidelines
- Complete required orientation modules and competency validation prior to start
