- Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Care Services (community hospital)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel RRT assignment)
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- End Date: August 3, 2026
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30) — night shift respiratory therapist
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,520 – $1,640
- Call Requirements: Up to 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule (call from 4PM – 8PM only)
- Weekend Coverage: Required (frequency varies, usually not more than every other weekend)
- Orientation: 24 hours
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential — licensed RRT required
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital experience as an RRT (community hospital experience required)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience with Epic EMR (minimum 1 year required)
- Experience with trauma level I or II preferred (critical care / ICU experience a plus)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Ability to work weekends and accept scheduled call shifts
- Strong team player with excellent communication and clinical documentation skills
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a hospital setting
- Perform a wide range of respiratory therapy procedures: aerosol therapy, airway management, mechanical ventilation (IMV, SIMV, BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC), arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation, intubation assistance, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene
- Respond to rapid response and emergency situations as a member of the interdisciplinary team (critical care and emergency support)
- Document all care accurately in Epic EMR — strong electronic charting skills required
- Float to other qualified units as needed based on census and hospital needs
- Participate in patient transport and interdisciplinary support activities
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, respiratory care protocols, and safety standards
