Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 – $1,840
- Location: Johnstown, PA 15901 (Johnstown healthcare)
- Setting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) — long-term acute care nurse role
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nurse assignment)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends and holidays — night shift RN; 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Start Date: 4/27/2026
- Employment Type: Travel, On-site (travel nursing job, LTAC nurse)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania (PA RN license required)
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in acute care or LTAC (2 years highly desired)
- Strong assessment, documentation, clinical judgment, and communication skills
- Experience with complex, long-term acute care patients, ventilator care, wound management, or rehabilitation is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans (LTAC nursing responsibilities)
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and set measurable care goals
- Provide timely, accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and deliver direct patient care using the nursing process
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission to support safe transitions of care
- Communicate changes in patient status to care team members to ensure continuity, safety, and quality outcomes
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing personnel as appropriate; assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
- Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to hospital and regulatory safety guidelines
- Contribute positively to team building, a supportive unit culture, and ongoing professional development
