• Location: 6 West Neuro MedSurg Unit, Morgantown, WV 26506 — Travel Nurse / West Virginia nursing jobs
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 8, 2026 – July 8, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days, weekend dayshift (Fri–Sun or Sat–Mon; 7:00am – 7:30pm)
• Hours: 36 hours per week, guaranteed
• Care Setting: Acute Medical-Surgical (Neuro focus); Neuro MedSurg, stroke nursing, seizure management
• Unit Size: 20 beds (14 floor beds)

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — willing to wait for license submission; travel nurse applicants welcome
• Minimum 1 year recent Neuro MedSurg RN experience (stroke, seizures, DBS, spine post-op)
• Proficient with EPIC electronic charting system
• Strong neuro skills, including G-tube care and management
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification required (must be in hand at time of submission)
• ACLS preferred
• Flexibility to float to other units as needed; reliable weekend coverage for travel assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients with neurological diagnoses: stroke, seizures, DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators), surgical/post-op spines, and other neuro conditions
• Manage and document patient care accurately using EPIC; ensure timely charting and handoffs
• Administer and monitor titratable drips per physician orders (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, Insulin)
• Verify and document monitor tech strip readings in EPIC (RNs are not required to interpret strips themselves)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses, nurse aides, respiratory therapists, and physicians
• Participate in unit orientation (1 shift), holiday rotations, and weekend shift requirements
• Adhere to unit dress code (white and royal blue scrubs) and facility policies
