Job Details – Cardiac Stepdown RN (Travel Nursing)

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860 – $1,960
• Location: Dayton, Ohio – Zip 45409 (Dayton nursing jobs, Ohio travel nursing)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: 4x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30), 36 or 48 hours per week
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (ME6 Medical – Inpatient) – cardiac telemetry unit
• Patient Ratios: Target 1:4; may be up to 1:5–1:6
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Required (every other weekend/holiday)
• Floating: May float to other campuses within 15 miles

Job Requirements – Registered Nurse (RN)

• Minimum 1.5 years recent Cardiac Stepdown or telemetry RN experience (Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred)
• Active RN license (any state; compact license accepted) – Ohio travel nursing candidates encouraged to apply
• Current BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certification required
• EPIC charting system experience required (telemetry documentation)
• Must pass online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to start
• Experience managing stable chronic ventilators and complex medical cardiac patients
• IV start skills preferred; experience with central line and chest tube care preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred but not required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Availability to work every other weekend/holiday

Responsibilities – Cardiac Telemetry Nurse

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Care for ventilated and complex medical patients (COPD, CHF, AKI/CRF, GI bleed, CVA, etc.)
• Perform and manage IV starts, central line care, chest tube management, and titratable drips (insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin)
• Interpret arterial blood gases and collaborate on care plans for respiratory and cardiac support
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, IV team, and rapid response
• Float to other units/campuses as needed and support the broader nursing team
• Participate in orientation, complete required competencies and online modules
