Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) / Medical-Surgical Nurse (Travel Nurse)
• Location: Peoria, Illinois (ZIP 61637) — Peoria healthcare jobs / Illinois nursing jobs
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM); every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
• Setting: Acute Care, 18-bed Med/Surg unit
• Charting / EMR: EPIC (EPIC experience preferred)
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs (no pediatric prints)

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license OR proof of RN license application in process
• BLS (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year recent hospital experience; Med/Surg experience preferred
• Experience titrating Heparin drips required
• Proficient with IV starts
• Negative drug screen required
• Willingness to float to other units as needed (flexible travel nurse)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to general medical and surgical patients
• Manage patient assignments with typical night ratios of 5–6:1
• Monitor, titrate, and document Heparin drips safely according to protocols
• Perform IV starts and other routine nursing procedures
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient care in EPIC
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team: charge nurses, PCTs, RT, pharmacy, and hospitalists
• Participate in unit orientation, ongoing education, and adhere to hospital policies including floating and holiday rotations
