- On-Call: 2–3 calls/week and at least 1 weekend/month (24-hour coverage Sat–Sun)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 8/3/2026)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920 – $2,060 (competitive travel surgical tech pay)
- Charting / EMR: Cerner experience preferred
- Parking: Free (South Parking Garage)
- Scrubs: Provided
Top Qualifications / Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent CVOR tech or cardiovascular surgical technologist experience required
- Previous travel surgical tech experience required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- NBSTSA certification strongly preferred (CVOR/ST certification)
- Valid state license required at time of submission
- Demonstrated scrub experience and perioperative skills
- COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Strict no-tobacco policy (nicotine screening required)
- Two supervisor references required
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in a wide range of surgical procedures, with emphasis on cardiovascular (CVOR), neuro, and general surgery for adults, adolescents, and geriatrics
- Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical instrumentation in the operating room using aseptic technique
- Set up specialized CVOR equipment and instruments, including implants and disposables used in cardiac and vascular procedures
- Pass instruments and anticipate surgeon needs during cases, ensuring efficiency and patient safety
- Handle, label, and transport surgical specimens appropriately and document per hospital policy
- Participate in on-call rotation and weekend coverage as scheduled
- Collaborate with perioperative and interdisciplinary teams (surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, perfusionists) to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols
