Job Details

• Position: Outpatient Physical Therapist / Travel PT (Physical Therapist)
• Setting: Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic – outpatient rehab, aquatic therapy available
• Location: Abilene, TX 79601 (Physical therapy jobs in Abilene, Texas)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
• Shift: Day shifts, 5x8-hour (Mon–Thu 8am–6pm, Fri 8am–12pm; schedule may vary)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,220 – $2,380 (travel physical therapist pay)
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics (orthopedics, neuro, post-surgical rehab)
• Average Visits per Day: 9–10
• Special Equipment: Extensive rehab equipment, indoor pool for aquatic therapy

Job Requirements

• Active Physical Therapist license in Texas (TX PT license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient PT experience (outpatient physical therapy jobs preferred)
• Manual therapy experience strongly preferred
• Experience treating orthopedics, neurological conditions, geriatrics, and post-surgical rehab
• Charting/EMR experience required (Altera experience preferred)
• Ability to complete facility drug screening (including marijuana) upon arrival
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must complete all required onboarding labs and documentation promptly

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy care to a diverse outpatient caseload
• Perform thorough evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and complete timely reassessments
• Use manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, modalities, and aquatic therapy as appropriate for patient goals
• Treat a variety of diagnoses including orthopedics, neurological rehab, geriatrics, and post-surgical patients
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury prevention
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR/Altera)
• Participate in orientation modules and adhere to facility policies and compliance standards
