Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
- Location: Janesville, WI (zip 53548) — travel nurse position, on-site
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 8, 2026 – July 8, 2026)
- Shift: Day Shift Schedule, 6:30am – 7:00pm (12-hour days)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
- Setting: Emergency Department / ER (acute care, trauma-capable)
- Note: Potential to work at a second ER location within Janesville
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room RN experience in an acute care or emergency department setting
- Active Wisconsin RN Licensure (compact applicants must verify state acceptance)
- Education verification and travel nurse credentials completed
- Required immunization: Flu vaccination
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Trauma certification: TNCC or TNS
Responsibilities
- Perform rapid assessments, triage, and ongoing clinical evaluations of ER patients in a high-acuity environment
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately following approved nursing protocols
- Document patient care and clinical reasoning in the electronic medical record (EMR) according to department standards
- Develop, initiate, and evaluate individualized patient plans of care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and follow-up recommendations
- Participate in department performance improvement, quality initiatives, and peer review activities
- Use critical thinking to identify patient safety concerns, escalate appropriately, and support trauma/rapid response when called
- Support other units or departments as needed using ER clinical expertise
- Engage in professional development, unit practice activities, and maintain required certifications
