• Patient Ratio: 12:1
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid for practice in Arizona or compact RN)
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience in inpatient behavioral health or acute psychiatric settings
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Handle With Care (HWC) certification required (facility does not accept CPI)
• Strong documentation, assessment, and communication skills; familiarity with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team (physicians, utilization review, social work, nursing)

Key Responsibilities (Psychiatric RN / Behavioral Health RN)

• Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to adult inpatients, including assessment, crisis intervention, and medication administration
• Deliver psychotherapy and counseling therapies as appropriate: group, individual, and family sessions focused on psychiatric and substance use disorders
• Participate in treatment planning, goal setting, and ongoing progress documentation
• Ensure accurate, timely patient documentation in the electronic medical record following facility and regulatory guidelines
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with clients, families, referral sources, and the interdisciplinary team while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Collaborate with utilization review on length of stay and discharge planning to ensure safe transitions of care
• Create comprehensive discharge plans and outpatient referrals to support continuity of care

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with acute psychiatric emergencies, de-escalation techniques, and structured therapeutic groups
• Experience working with co-occurring substance use disorders
• Familiarity with mental health documentation standards and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality rules
