Travel Homecare RN opportunity: 13-week home hospice contract in Oak Brook, IL — night shift, 12-hours, immediate need for experienced Home Health RN. Join a compassionate team providing in-home hospice and palliative care in the Chicago suburbs.

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
• Location: Oak Brook, IL (Home Hospice – travel to patient homes within assigned territory; zip code 60523)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing Contract
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Expectations: 1 summer and 1 winter holiday

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Home Health RN or Home Hospice RN experience (homecare nursing)
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (Illinois nursing jobs)
• BLS certification required
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance (travel to patient homes)
• Comfortable with home-based case management and symptom management
• Epic EMR experience preferred (Epic Rover familiarity a plus)

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate in-home hospice and palliative care for patients with diagnoses such as failure to thrive, advanced cancers, end-stage COPD, and other terminal illnesses
• Respond to after-hours visits called into the triage line (PRN symptom management visits, falls, death visits)
• Perform focused assessments, post-fall evaluations, wound care, and troubleshoot feeding tubes and Foley catheters
• Administer narcotic pain medications and manage medication kits in the home setting
• Converse with medical examiners or coroners during death visits and complete required documentation
• Identify and report potential drug diversions in the home
• Collaborate with Lead RN and Supportive Care Team members for guidance, reporting, and coordinated patient care
• Document patient care accurately and timely using Epic (Rover) EMR
• Contribute to a supportive, collaborative unit culture focused on timely, high-quality patient care
