Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,150 - $2,310
- Location: New London, CT 06320 (Travel Respiratory Therapist position)
- Facility: Short-term acute care Level III trauma center (252 staffed beds)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 25, 2026 – August 24, 2026)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: Mid shift, 4x10-hour (14:45 – 00:45); evenings and/or nights; at least every other weekend and holiday (based on department need)
- Float: May float to Westerly Hospital as needed
- Charting / EMR: EPIC (experience preferred)
- Uniform: Navy blue scrubs

Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in acute care settings (Level III trauma center experience preferred)
- Active CT and RI state licenses (may start with one active and one pending)
- BLS certification required
- Pediatrics experience required (neonatal/infant experience a plus)
- Experience with mechanical ventilation, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation
- Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Candidates located within 75 miles are not eligible for this travel role
- One professional reference required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care across the lifespan: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Manage mechanical ventilation, troubleshoot ventilator alarms, and optimize ventilator settings
- Assist with intubation, perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
- Perform chest physiotherapy, CPAP/BiPAP management, tracheostomy care, and airway management
- Support high-risk deliveries and respond to respiratory emergencies in the trauma/acute care setting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and participate in rounds as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and follow facility policies and protocols
- Float to other units or facilities (Westerly Hospital) when required by department needs
