Travel Surgical Tech in Tacoma, WA — Pediatric OR opening at a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU. Ideal travel contract for experienced Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) with pediatric and high-acuity OR skills.

- Assignment Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)
- Location: Tacoma, WA 98405 — Washington surgical tech jobs / Tacoma healthcare
- Setting: Hospital – Pediatric Operating Room (connected PICU & NICU campus)
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- End Date: August 1, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights; guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,830 – $1,970 (travel surgical technologist pay)
- On Call: Yes — ~2 weeknights and 1 weekend every 6 weeks (30-minute response time)
- Parking: Free on-site parking
- Scrubs: Provided
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Minimum 2 years acute Operating Room experience (high-level experience required if only 2 years)
- Experience with pediatric cases required; combo adult/pediatric experience preferred
- Washington State license/certification (as applicable) or ability to obtain
- Current BLS (AHA)
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- First-time travelers: minimum 5 years extensive OR + Pediatric experience
- Robotics, high-level neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and dental surgical experience highly preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Experience with neonatal and pediatric surgical instruments and sterile technique
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist in a wide variety of pediatric and some adult surgical procedures including trauma, neurosurgery, spine, urology, GYN, orthopedics, oncology, ENT, dental, ophthalmology, and robotic surgeries
- Provide perioperative care for patients ranging from neonates to adults, including those with developmental delays and congenital anomalies
- Float to support procedures in the PICU and NICU as needed (connected campus)
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotation and respond within required timeframe
- Maintain sterile field, adhere to infection control and hospital safety protocols
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
