Travel Surgical Technologist – Pediatric Cardiac OR in Tacoma, WA | CST, BLS, Washington license required; 3+ years Pediatric CVOR 1st?scrub experience. Join our travel healthcare team supporting a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU and make an impact from neonates to adults.
Job Details
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
- Position: Travel Surgical Technologist / Surgical Tech – Pediatric Cardiac OR (CVOR)
- Setting: Pediatric Cardiac Operating Room, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Level IV NICU
- Shifts: 12?hour days (0630 – 1900)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- On?Call: 1 call shift per week (end of shift to following morning), 2 weekends per 6?week period (Fri evening to Mon morning); 30?minute response time required
- Weekend Rotation: Call only
- Floating: May assist General OR when CVOR volume is light
- Scrub Color: Hospital provided
- Parking: Free parking lot
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,770 – $1,900
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years Pediatric CVOR experience in the 1st Scrub role (handing supplies to surgeon, instrument counts)
- Experience with neonates, infants, developmentally delayed patients, and congenital anomalies
- Required Certifications: CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) and BLS
- Active Washington state license or eligibility
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR)
- First?time travel Surgical Techs must have 5+ years Pediatric CVOR experience
Key Responsibilities
- Perform 1st Scrub duties in the Pediatric Cardiac OR (CVOR): prepare sterile field, hand instruments, and complete instrument counts
- Support cardiothoracic cases including Tetralogy of Fallot repair, pericardial window, transposition of the great vessels, open valve repairs, ECMO procedures, PDA ligation, ASD repairs, and other pediatric cardiac surgeries
- Assist General OR when CVOR case volume is low to support perioperative flow
- Participate in required on?call shifts and respond within 30 minutes as scheduled
- Collaborate with surgeons, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, high?quality patient care
