Travel OR RN Job Details – Tacoma, Washington

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,500 - $2,630 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Tacoma, WA (98405) — South Puget Sound / Tacoma area
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 8/1/2026)
• Shift: 10-hour days
• Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel Assignment
• On Call: Yes (Approx. 2 weeknights and 1 weekend every 6 weeks; 30-minute response time required)
• Free Parking: Provided

Operating Room Nurse Requirements (OR RN / Surgical Nurse)

• Minimum 2 years of acute Operating Room experience (high-level OR experience required if only 2 years)
• Experience with both pediatric OR and adult OR cases highly preferred — pediatric OR nurse experience a plus
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Valid Washington State RN license or Compact RN license required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• First-time travel nurses must have extensive OR and pediatric experience (5+ years)

Surgical Nurse Responsibilities (OR RN)

• Circulate and scrub a wide range of surgical cases including thoracic, surgical pathology, pediatric PACU, pediatric OR, neurosurgery, urology, GYN, ortho, oncology, ENT, general, dental, ophthalmology, and robotics (DaVinci XI)
• Perform IV starts, assist with scrub duties, and support robotics cases (manager approval may be required if some skills are missing)
• Assist anesthesia with specialized procedures (e.g., intubations in MRI or IR) and support complex perioperative needs
• Float to PICU and assist with NICU cases as needed; provide pediatric perioperative care
• Care for patients with developmental delays, congenital anomalies, trauma, and complex surgical needs across all ages
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — surgeons, anesthesiologists, PACU, PICU, and perioperative staff — to ensure optimal patient outcomes
