Travel Surgical Technologist (CST) – Labor & Delivery in Bangor, ME: 13-week travel assignment at a high-acuity hospital with a Level III NICU. Join our L&D team as a Surgical Tech supporting a high-volume obstetrics unit in beautiful Bangor, Maine.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,520 – $1,640
- Location: Bangor, Maine (04401) — Bangor healthcare jobs / Maine surgical tech jobs
- Setting: Hospital – Labor and Delivery Unit (L&D), Operating Room support)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 28, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel Surgical Tech / On-Site

Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – National certification (NBSTSA preferred)
- BLS from AHA required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Tech in Labor & Delivery / obstetrics
- At least 1 prior travel assignment at a facility of comparable size and acuity (experience as a travel surgical tech preferred)
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, OR setup, and obstetric surgical procedures
- Ability to collaborate with RNs, anesthesia providers, obstetricians, and neonatal teams in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and prepare for vaginal deliveries and assist with delivery procedures and repairs
- Prepare, scrub, and assist for cesarean sections (C-sections) in the operating room
- Maintain sterile field integrity and handle sterile instrumentation and equipment
- Assist with patient transport, room turnover, and room stocking to support efficient L&D workflows
- Support newborn care protocols and collaborate with Level III NICU staff for high-acuity cases
- Perform unit-related documentation and light clerical/secretarial duties as needed
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
