- Setting: Level III Trauma Center – 34-bed Emergency Department
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse (ER RN)
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- End Date: August 1, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour shifts with varied start times: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 10a-10p, 11a-11p, 12p-12a, 1p-1a, 2p-2a, 3p-3a, 7p-7a
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend (flexibility required)
- Scrub Color: Any (no logos)
- EMR: EPIC (strongly preferred) — experience with EPIC EMR improves candidate visibility
- Typical Patient Ratio: 1:3–5 based on acuity
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a large-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department (ED)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
- Strong triage experience (must pass hospital Triage Test before allowed to triage)
- Experience with barcode scanning medication administration, medication drips, blood product administration, and Point-of-Care labs (preferred)
- Clinical skills: chest tube setup, arterial lines, assisting with trauma and code cases, splinting, BiPAP/vent use
- Solid understanding of ESI (Emergency Severity Index)
- Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred (first-time travelers not considered)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages—from neonates to geriatrics—as an ER Registered Nurse
- Perform triage, rapid assessment, and prioritization of patients based on acuity (Emergency Department triage)
- Administer medications, manage IV drips, and perform blood product transfusions safely
- Assist with trauma and code cases including chest tube and arterial line setup
- Deliver care across a broad case mix: medical, trauma, stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, and substance use disorders
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary emergency care team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Document care accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR (electronic medical record)
- Maintain schedule flexibility, including weekend rotations and varied day shift start times
- Manage a typical patient ratio of 1:3–5, adjusting care based on patient acuity
