Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540 (competitive travel RN pay)
- Location: Amarillo, TX 79106 (Amarillo travel nurse)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (4/27/2026 – 7/27/2026)
- Shift: Night – 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30) – night shift RN
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Med/Surg – Ortho/Neuro (35 beds) – medical-surgical nursing
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- First Time Travelers: Accepted
- Scrub Color: Any (no logos)
- Documentation System: EPIC EMR (recent EPIC charting experience required)

Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience; Ortho and Neuro experience preferred (Ortho RN, Neuro RN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required (assistance available for NIHSS)
- Recent EPIC charting experience within the last 6 months (EPIC experience for travel RN positions)
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (local traveler restrictions apply)
- Ability to float to units of equal or lesser acuity as needed (flexible acute care nursing support)
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with orthopedic, neurological, and medical-surgical needs (Med/Surg RN responsibilities)
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments as ordered (medication administration, wound care, post-op care)
- Document patient care accurately using the EPIC EMR system (electronic charting, clinical documentation)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services (team-based acute care)
- Float to other units as required and provide support to colleagues (cross-training and flexibility)
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training modules for travel RN onboarding
