Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540 (competitive travel RN pay)
• Location: Amarillo, TX 79106 (Amarillo travel nurse)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (4/27/2026 – 7/27/2026)
• Shift: Night – 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30) – night shift RN
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Med/Surg – Ortho/Neuro (35 beds) – medical-surgical nursing
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• First Time Travelers: Accepted
• Scrub Color: Any (no logos)
• Documentation System: EPIC EMR (recent EPIC charting experience required)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience; Ortho and Neuro experience preferred (Ortho RN, Neuro RN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required (assistance available for NIHSS)
• Recent EPIC charting experience within the last 6 months (EPIC experience for travel RN positions)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (local traveler restrictions apply)
• Ability to float to units of equal or lesser acuity as needed (flexible acute care nursing support)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with orthopedic, neurological, and medical-surgical needs (Med/Surg RN responsibilities)
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments as ordered (medication administration, wound care, post-op care)
• Document patient care accurately using the EPIC EMR system (electronic charting, clinical documentation)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services (team-based acute care)
• Float to other units as required and provide support to colleagues (cross-training and flexibility)
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training modules for travel RN onboarding
