Job Requirements — Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department required
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Certifications required: ACLS and BLS; NRP preferred
- NICU experience preferred for neonatal respiratory care roles
- EPIC charting experience required (EPIC clinical documentation)
- Ability to float between like units and/or sister hospitals as needed
- References: Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years
- Holiday coverage: Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Travel requirement: No local candidates — must live more than 50 miles from facility
Responsibilities — Clinical Respiratory Care
- Provide respiratory care to patients across all age groups: neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Perform advanced respiratory procedures including intubation assist, extubation, airway management, and mechanical ventilation management
- Set up and manage aerosol therapy, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and participate in patient assessments and ventilator management rounds
- Assist in high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal respiratory support when assigned to NICU
- Operate and troubleshoot hospital ventilators and devices such as Draeger, Evita XL, LTV, Zoll (Viasys Vela preferred)
- Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic health record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, physicians, RT team) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float between units as needed to support patient care and department needs
