Job Details
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,530 – $1,610
- Setting: Trauma ICU – 16 beds, average daily census 14 (Trauma ICU RN role)
- Shifts: 3x12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 36 hours/week — night shift travel nurse opportunity
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (critical care / ventilated patients)
- Location: Tyler, TX 75701 — East Texas travel nursing job
- Employment Type: Travel, On-Site
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (Trauma ICU preferred) — strong critical care nursing background required
- Previous travel nursing experience required (unit does not accept first-time travelers)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; PALS and TNCC preferred
- Experience with Epic charting system required (Epic EMR experience)
- Experience in Level I or II Trauma Centers preferred
- Must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult trauma patients in a fast-paced Trauma ICU environment — duties consistent with critical care nursing and trauma nursing
- Manage ventilated and high-acuity patients, central lines, and advanced monitoring including ICP monitoring
- Administer blood products and manage BiPAP/CPAP therapy
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and complex hemodynamic status
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Float as needed to ICU, IMC, and Telemetry units (cross-unit flexibility)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Epic (Epic EMR charting)
