- Job Title: Travel ICU Registered Nurse / Neuro ICU RN (critical care RN)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- Shift: Nights – 3x12 hour (19:00 - 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,530 – $1,610
- Setting: Neuro ICU (16 beds, adult population)
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (ICU nurse / critical care ratio)
- Charting / EMR: Epic
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required (neurocritical care)
- Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-appropriate)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience with Epic electronic health record
- Per facility policy, candidates residing in the following Texas counties are ineligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized neurocritical care for patients with traumatic brain injuries, post-craniotomy, stroke, and spinal cord injuries
- Manage advanced ICU equipment and neuro protocols: ventilators, central lines, external ventricular drains (EVDs), ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, lumbar drains
- Administer blood products, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid changes in neuro status
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical/occupational therapy, and neurosurgery
- Float as needed to ICU/IMC/Telemetry units to support overall critical care staffing
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Epic to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance
