We are seeking an experienced, certified Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech / OR Tech) for a full-time travel contract at a leading hospital. Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,690 - $1,820 (competitive travel surgical technologist pay)
- Location: York, Maine (York County) — Zip: 03909; Southern Maine / New England travel job
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shifts: 4 shifts per week, 9-hour days scheduled between 6:45 am and 4:15 pm
- On-Call: Call rotation required; must be able to return to facility within 45 minutes
- Setting: Hospital Operating Room (OR) — orthopedic-focused cases with additional surgical specialties
Travel Surgical Technologist Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- At least 1 year of recent experience in a hospital OR setting
- Orthopedic surgery experience required (orthopedic scrub tech for joint cases preferred)
- Ability to participate in call rotation and respond within 45 minutes
- Strong teamwork, communication, and perioperative skills
- Familiarity with AORN standards, aseptic technique, and surgical instrumentation
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and case carts for scheduled and emergency surgical procedures
- Scrub, pass, and maintain the sterile field; anticipate surgeon needs during procedures
- Assist surgeons and OR staff during operations, with emphasis on orthopedic cases (e.g., total joint arthroplasty)
- Ensure proper handling, counting, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies
- Support a variety of surgical specialties as needed (orthopedic, general, minimally invasive procedures)
- Participate in call rotation and respond promptly when called back to the facility
- Collaborate with nursing and surgical teams to deliver high-quality patient care and maintain OR efficiency
