PACU Registered Nurse (RN) — Philadelphia, PA (8-Week Contract)

PACU Registered Nurse (RN) – 8-week contract in Philadelphia, PA (ZIP 19107). Join our PACU nursing team providing post-anesthesia care for inpatient GI patients in Center City Philadelphia.

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370 – $2,500
• Location: Philadelphia, PA 19107 (Center City; Philadelphia nursing jobs)
• Setting: Inpatient GI, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Contract Duration: 8 weeks
• Hours per Week: 40
• Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (4x10s)
• Start Date: May 4, 2026
• On-Site Position

Key Qualifications (PACU RN Requirements)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania (PA RN license)
• Minimum 1 year of PACU or relevant perioperative nursing experience
• Experience in inpatient GI, thoracic surgery, surgical pathology, sub-acute care, pediatric PACU, or pediatric OR preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Strong clinical assessment, patient monitoring, and communication skills

Responsibilities — PACU / Post-Anesthesia Care

• Provide post-anesthesia care to adult and/or pediatric patients in the GI PACU following surgical and endoscopic procedures
• Monitor patient recovery, vital signs, airway status, pain control, and sedation levels
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain management and antiemetics
• Perform accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe transitions of care
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and follow-up planning
