• Support Staff: PCTs, HUC monitor techs
• Travel Policy: Locals within 50 miles not accepted

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Current RN license in Kentucky or compact state (required) — Registered Nurse
• BLS certification (required prior to direct patient care)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (required); 6 months in acute care hospital setting preferred
• Dysrhythmia exam required at orientation (study guide available)
• EPIC EHR experience (preferred) — experience with electronic health records advantageous

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; analyze findings and develop individualized care plans for med/surg and telemetry patients
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with state and facility policies (including cardiac drips)
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, heparin, amiodarone, nitro), chest tubes, foleys, and advanced respiratory modalities (BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen)
• Read and interpret cardiac strips and dysrhythmias — strong telemetry skills required
• Coordinate care across departments and serve as a point of contact for interdisciplinary teams
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Provide compassionate, relationship-based care for cardiac and oncology populations, focusing on patient quality of life
• Collaborate with palliative care, spiritual care, and ethics teams as needed
• Maintain professionalism, practice self-care, and cultivate resilience in challenging clinical situations
