Travel RRT opportunity in Columbus, OH — 13-week night-shift hospital respiratory therapist position at a large academic medical center (43210). Join a skilled respiratory therapy team providing critical care and ventilator management for adult and geriatric patients.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 – $1,780
- Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) — Ohio respiratory therapy jobs / Columbus healthcare jobs
- Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit (large academic medical center)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Floating: May be required between campuses
- Equipment: GE ventilators; experience with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management preferred
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist; critical care or med/surg experience preferred
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
- Active Ohio state license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- High School Diploma and College Diploma or transcripts required
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system (clinical documentation)
- Previous travel respiratory therapist experience preferred (travel RT jobs)
- Ability to provide two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in med/surg and progressive care units (PCU)
- Set up and manage aerosol therapies, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
- Perform airway placement and suctioning (oral/nasal) and provide tracheostomy care
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and assist with respiratory assessments
- Manage ventilators, troubleshoot high-pressure alarms, and perform mechanical ventilation weaning
- Collect sputum specimens and perform pulmonary hygiene procedures
- Float between campuses as needed and support unit staffing needs
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic and adhere to hospital policies and infection control (vaccination requirements)
