Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel nursing assignment in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting in Jackson, Mississippi. Required Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of acute bedside clinical experience (LTAC, Stepdown, or PCU experience highly desired)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills for long-term acute care patients
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous LTAC or rehabilitation nursing experience
- Stepdown, PCU, or critical care background
- Experience functioning as charge nurse or supervising ancillary staff
Responsibilities (LTAC / Travel Nurse)
- Provide high-quality nursing care in a long-term acute care setting following individualized nursing care plans
- Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop and implement individualized care plans
- Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
- Participate in rehabilitation programs and deliver direct patient care focused on recovery and discharge readiness
- Identify patient and family teaching needs and set measurable teaching goals
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely manner
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching at admission to support smooth transitions of care
- Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and safety
- Promote patient and staff safety, contribute to unit efficiency, and support positive team building
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation and engage in professional growth and development
