- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370 - $2,500
- Location: Kansas City, MO 64132 — Kansas City nursing jobs, Missouri travel nurse opportunity
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
- Shift: 10-hour days (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM), Monday–Friday
- Hours per Week: 40
- On Call: Night and weekend on-call shifts required
- Unit: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room), 15 ORs — Cardiac OR, perioperative RN role
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Documentation System: Meditech
Job Requirements
- Active RN license (Missouri or multi-state compact eligible preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
- Minimum 1 year recent CVOR experience, including cardiac surgeries (CABG, valve replacements, DaVinci-assisted thoracoscopy)
- Competency leading or supporting Robotic, Total Joint, Neuro/Spine, Burn, and Vascular Surgery cases
- Experience in a similar-sized facility with comparable surgical services
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) for cardiac and complex surgical cases
- Scrub and second-assist duties: sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors, and manipulating endoscopic/robotic camera systems
- Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment required during heart and vascular surgical procedures
- Anticipate surgeon needs, maintain the sterile field, and ensure patient safety and adherence to OR protocols
- Perform advanced procedures across specialties: cardiac, vascular, neuro/spine, trauma, ortho, burn, ENT, transplant, and robotic-assisted surgeries
- Float to main OR when CVOR caseload is light
- Participate in scheduled night and weekend on-call rotations
