Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or compact state (required)
• At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply
• BLS – American Heart Association (required)
• Surgical/procedural or perioperative experience preferred but not required
• CNOR or perioperative certification a plus
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to travel nursing assignments

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in the operating room
• Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures, including abdominal, breast, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, plastics and reconstructive, robotics, spine, thoracic, trauma, urology, and vascular cases
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and perioperative staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention and control protocols in the OR
• Document patient care, intraoperative events, and surgical counts accurately using Meditech EHR
• Participate in ongoing education, precepting, and department training as required
