Job Details

• Location: Nashville, TN 37203 — Travel Nurse in Nashville, Tennessee; enjoy live music, dining, and vibrant city life
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 – $1,730
• Unit: 16-bed CVICU, Tower Building (Cardiac ICU)
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 (1:1 for certain device patients)
• Support: Free-floating charge nurse, unit secretary, Administrative Care Tech (M-F), and student nurse externs
• Awards: HCA Unit of Distinction Award Winner, Daisy Award Recipient

Job Requirements (Registered Nurse / Travel Nurse)

• Active RN license (Compact or state-specific per assignment)
• Minimum 1 year recent CVICU, cardiac ICU, or critical care experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring
• Preferred: Experience with IABP, Impella, CRRT, ECMO, and LVAD (HM3/Centrimag)
• Strong post-operative cardiac surgery nursing skills
• Ability to float to other ICUs or units as needed (flexible ICU float)

Responsibilities (CVICU / Cardiac ICU RN)

• Provide expert, evidence-based nursing care for immediate post-op cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADs
• Perform and monitor advanced procedures: central line care, Swan-Ganz/PA catheter insertion and monitoring, intubations, and line management
• Manage hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips using Phillips bedside telemetry and Alaris IV pumps
• Operate advanced equipment including Hill-Rom beds and specialty cardiac devices
• Document care in Meditech and maintain accurate charting for continuity and quality improvement
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members: cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, perfusionists, and cardiac techs to optimize patient outcomes
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including 2 weekends per month and select holiday coverage
• Maintain professional appearance in required scrubs (black, red, or galaxy blue)
