Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience to join our Pediatric Emergency Department team. Ideal candidates have strong skills in ventilator management, airway support, and pediatric respiratory assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RRT certification (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience; pediatric or critical care experience preferred
- Proficiency with invasive and noninvasive ventilation and ventilator management
- Experience documenting and charting in Meditech EMR preferred
- Ability and willingness to float to other pediatric spaces as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- BLS/Pediatric life support training is a plus (e.g., PALS)
- Prior travel respiratory therapist or pediatric ED experience
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients in the Emergency Department and adjacent pediatric units
- Perform pediatric respiratory assessments, bronchiolitic scoring, and airway management
- Initiate, manage, and monitor noninvasive and invasive ventilation therapies and ventilator changes
- Respond to respiratory arrest situations and assist with stabilization and emergency interventions
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Meditech EMR and comply with departmental policies
- Adapt to floating assignments within pediatric care areas as required
