General EMT – Travel Assignment in Asheville, NC | 13-week contract. Immediate opportunity for experienced EMTs in emergency medical services and patient transport.
Join a dynamic Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina! As a General EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), you'll provide vital pre-hospital care and safe patient transport, working alongside a dedicated clinical staff. This 13-week travel contract offers hands-on EMS experience and the chance to enjoy Asheville's arts scene, mountain views, and welcoming community.
EMT Travel Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,120 – $1,200
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Buncombe County)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Shift: 12 Hour Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel EMT / Travel Assignment
- Weekend Requirement: One weekend per month scheduled
- Uniform: Provided
EMT Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of full-time active pre-hospital care or equivalent EMS experience
- Must be over 21 years of age
- 2 years of satisfactory driving experience (per insurance guidelines)
- Must have and maintain North Carolina Paramedic Certification and CE requirements (or appropriate NC EMT/Paramedic state certification)
- Required Certifications: ACLS, PALS, PHTLS/ITLS, BLS
- Boarded with Buncombe County Medical Director (preferred)
- Bachelor's in EMS (preferred)
- National Registry (preferred)
- Flexible, professional, and friendly personality with strong teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely, and efficient patient transport including wheelchair, Behavioral Health, BLS, ALS, and Critical Care transports
- Deliver high-quality pre-hospital care and patient assessment during transport
- Perform IV insertion and medication administration per protocols
- Operate clinical equipment including Zoll cardiac monitors and Baxter & Alaris IV pumps
- Document patient care accurately in ESO EMR and maintain transport records
- Float to Behavioral Health transport and wheelchair/BLS van assignments as needed
- Adhere to unit policies, Buncombe County protocols, and North Carolina EMS guidelines
