Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license (required) — Emergency Nurse (ER RN) or Travel Nurse experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room experience required (ED nurse, acute care, triage)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, SAMA or equivalent (TNCC and ENPC preferred)
• Strong critical thinking, rapid assessment and triage skills (ESI assignment experience a plus)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity, team-oriented emergency department environment

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
• Rapidly assess patient conditions and assign Emergency Severity Index (ESI) to prioritize care
• Deliver immediate life-saving interventions and stabilize critical patients in an emergency nursing setting
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, with accurate documentation in Cerner
• Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely interventions
• Delegate patient care tasks appropriately based on staff experience and education
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and certifications relevant to emergency nursing
• Supervise and provide direction to assigned personnel when applicable
